Dear Laguna Canyon Conservancy members,

Thank you to those of you that have renewed your membership in LCC for 2024! If you have not had a chance yet to renew, please consider doing so today as your support helps us with presenting programs and events. Membership is still only $25; you can renew online or by

It is the time of year when we ask for nominations for directors for the Board of Directors. If you or someone you know would like to join us in our mission to preserve and protect open space in Laguna Canyon and surrounding areas, please contact me or another current Board member to discuss what serving on the Board would involve. Serious issues like the potential transfer of Laguna Canyon Road management to the city of Laguna Beach are ahead and we need concerned residents’ input. Our Board meeting schedule is not that demanding and generally, summer months will only involve Zoom meetings. You can also send me an email at

COMING EVENTS - Speaker Meetings

Meetings are being planned for the coming months and will be held via Zoom or in person. We are looking forward to presenting speakers who are members of local government, city leaders, leaders of other environmental groups, and experts about topics of interest to Laguna Canyon Conservancy’s members. We welcome your suggestions and ideas for speakers.

Our most recent in person meeting was held at the Rivian Theater in Laguna Beach on Earth Day, April 22nd. It was a big success and drew a large crowd.  Attendees heard from several environmental groups, city leaders, high school and college students about climate change and ocean protection. The overall theme of the event was to remember why Earth Day is important and should be celebrated every day of the year.  Please check out this event under our Past Programs.

As the summer months approach, I wish you a healthy, happy season ahead.  Please consider taking a more active role in our organization, large or small. Thank you for your consideration.

Warmest Regards,

Gayle Waite
